Sheikh Khazali: The international investigation team considered the Speicher massacre a crime committed with genocidal intent in Iraq.

The General Secretary of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, today (Wednesday) painfully recalled the tenth anniversary of the “Speicher massacre” committed by the Takfiri terrorist ISIS gangs against members of the security forces, as part of a global project that targeted the Iraqis and their Islamic identity, while pointing out that the international investigation team The Speicher massacre is considered a crime committed with genocidal intent in Iraq.
Sheikh Khazali said in a blog post on the “X” platform: “With feelings of pain, sadness and challenge, we remember the tenth anniversary of the Speicher crime, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 1,700 young men among our heroic sons”.
His Eminence pointed out that in days like these, “the Takfiri terrorist gangs of ISIS invaded Mosul and expanded to other cities, in a global project that targeted our existence, our Islamic identity, our sanctities, and our national sovereignty. The Popular Mobilization Forces had the right to take revenge, consolidate victory, extend control over the country, and achieve National sovereignty”.
His Eminence also stressed that he urges the Iraqi judiciary and the efforts of the international investigation team to complete a comprehensive report on the massacre, considering it a crime committed with genocidal intent in Iraq, and considering it a crime against humanity and a war crime.
His Eminence continued by saying, “We pray for mercy and forgiveness for the souls of the innocent martyrs, and for their families with patience and solace, and we appeal to the government to fulfill the rights of the martyrs and take care of their families”.
